In Mid 2019, me and my husband were one among the pool of families looking to buy their first home and feeling lucky. We were of the general impression that having a house to call our home would not only give us a good return in future when we resell it but also a sense of ownership and freedom to do anything to our house. I have been working from home since September 2019 and have never looked back since then. The reason why I am able to say that is because of the many advantages that I enjoyed so far and continue to enjoy. The latest thank god moment being, comparison of work from home with my husband who works 9-5 jobs. Because of the current situation, my husband is also working from home. However, It is not a tiny bit the same. Even though he is working from home, he doesn’t have the luxury of attending to any household chores. He is stuck at his computer all day long. Half the time he will be in the virtual real-time meetings and the rest of the time talking to colleagues through their office network (Yammer) and still have to be able to fill up a full day’s work in their timesheet. Ever Since this broke in November 2019, it has started growing worse every passing day in front of our eyes. Following news and press cover for a count of new cases and casualties from different countries like one would do in case of Olympic medal result. The more you watch these media coverage, the more you \ become stressed out and want to give up going out altogether.  Then, you put off your TV/Social Media news channel and come to your real life, you reflect on the current situation, reflect on government’s advice and instruction, and think about your own situation. The past 4 months are literally gone doing this in an endless loop. In the picture book “Waiting is not easy”, Piggie and elephant Gerald are the best friends. Piggie is calm and happy whereas Gerald is impatient and mischievous. Piggie has a surprise for his big friend. Gerald can’t wait to see the surprise but he was asked to wait by Piggie. Gerald gets so excited and wait but the wait was not easy because he had to wait for night to come by. Gerald was at verge of giving up few times in process of waiting. Mo Willems through Gerald demonstrate how difficult waiting is. Gerald keeps insisting Piggie to disclose what the surprise was about but Piggie had to find way to convince him that the surprise was not ready and maintain surprise as surprise. Parenting can be most confused state in one’s life. I have been in that whirlpool  myself several times. Then at some point I realised I would take note of them so that I may not repeat or might learn something out of it over time. I brought my girls along with me because all I wanted was best and nothing less for them. I have this strong notion of building foundation right for better future. I believe Australia is most family friendly and child prioritised country. So I couldn’t have asked for more for my girls when I got this opportunity to come here to study.. However, when I joined Uni, all I wanted to do was concentrate on my study and fetch good marks to send back to my sponsor, in my desire to pay back, making my scholarship worth.
