𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀.

I have been working from home since September 2019 and have never looked back since then.


The reason why I am able to say that is because of the many advantages that I enjoyed so far and continue to enjoy.

The latest thank god moment being, comparison of work from home with my husband who works 9-5 jobs. Because of the current situation, my husband is also working from home.


However, It is not a tiny bit the same. Even though he is working from home, he doesn’t have the luxury of attending to any household chores. He is stuck at his computer all day long. Half the time he will be in the virtual real-time meetings and the rest of the time talking to colleagues through their office network (Yammer) and still have to be able to fill up a full day’s work in their timesheet. What has changed for him? Just the physical environment, and yes that working in PJ, otherwise, rest remains the same for him.


On the contrary, I could work around my household chores, make my girls do school work while homeschooling. Feed them on time, make three meals for the husband while working from home. And when I am not doing any of these, I work on my business. This is the difference between sky and earth. You work from home, but if you are still working for someone, you don’t have that luxury of taking care of your family.


These are the plus points I experienced first hand during the current situation. Besides, I didn’t have to worry about keeping kids home when this situation appeared. I could straight away decide to keep them home bringing down the risk of getting it or spreading it. Forget about the fear of being laid off or the office shutting down altogether or depending on the government's benefits, no stress related to the job at all for myself. I admit I do feel for others who lost jobs because of this pandemic. Yet I can’t say how thankful I am to have found this digital business in time.


It’s never too late to make your life comfortable too. Humans are never foolproof of such risk anyways.
