The three- day Royal wedding celebration was a great experience for everyone who has witnessed the event. Every single soul will have a different story to tell out of this enjoyable holiday. I personally thought and felt on lots of different subjects apart from simply enjoying and witnessing the perfect celebration.

The perfect 3 days was with out a single drop of rain which is very likely at this time of the year and also no bright sun light of winter which let people enjoy the program whole day every day. I personally felt and also heard people comment about royal couple being the match made in heaven.

The different kinds of events prepared by people of all walks of life was great effort shown to express their Love for our Monarchs, King and queen. I felt really touched by seeing all the effort put in the arrangements, all great cultural programs, on the other hand our royal couple took all the pain to walk around and talk with every one possible. The perfect proof was our King and Queen walking all the way from Simtokha Dzong till the Palace even to late night on the 14th of October.

Being among the audiences myself during the last day celebration at Changlimithang, I have also seen people who were there as early as 5am to occupy a seat were not just there to see the different cultural programs but was there in hope of getting chance to talk or at least see our royal couple. Some people traveled from as far as Gelephu in south and Laya in the north for same reason. Most of them disappeared right after the royal couple’s visit around the stadium.

This love from people to our royal family is not only from adults who knows how to think , but even children share same sense of feeling, one can become so emotional if they didn’t get a chance to have glance at our royal couple. I have my own nephew who was just 5-year old was weeping the whole evening as he couldn’t get chance to talk when the royal couple changed their route when it was very near him.

Our country is so blessed to have King who loves his subject dearly and people who try to reciprocate equally.

Suja

Suja is Bhutanese salty tea which is simple to make and goes well with fried rice breakfast. It has significant meaning in Bhutanese culture which is evident from it being served at every important occasion with desi (sweet saffron rice). Tea leaves of suja has to be made from different tree leaves called Neshing Jurma (parasitic plant that cruel around big tree).
